In the context of the Story of Breda (‘Verhaal van Breda’), Master students of the Landscape Architecture and Urbanism have made designs for 3 inner-city locations in Breda provided by the municipality. The young designers of the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture follow dual education alongside their work at an architect. Their point of departure for inspiring but at the same time realistic plans was the theme of an “Urban Forest”.
But what exactly is that, and how can this concept contribute to the ambitious goal of “Breda, City in The Park” until 2020? 6 students present their plans in a short Pecha Kucha and are ready to answer questions from the audience.
The afternoon presentation is introduced by program leader City in the Park Tom Rozendal. The event is organized by the municipality of Breda (Rombout van Eekelen), the Amsterdam Academy of Architecture (Hanneke Kijne and Markus Appenzeller) and nextcity.nl (Mathias Lehner, lecturer at the Academy).
